Cole Toepfer | Coach | minneapolis, mn

Cole Toepfer hails from Eagan Minnesota where he found competitive sports at a young age and was coached by his father throughout grade school. Cole later joined both the high school cross-country and track teams where he found instant success breaking school records in the 5k and 3200m, as well as participating in the MN High School State cross-country and track meets.

Cole attended the University of Minnesota at Duluth where he competed at the NCAA Division II level in cross country and track and field for four years. Cole was voted captain to both teams, carried multiple All Conference and All Region honors, and held school records in the Indoor Mile, 3K, and Distance Medley Relay. Cole highlighted his collegiate career when he qualified for the indoor nationals meet in the Mile, 3K, and DMR as a senior.

Since graduating in 2014, Cole has continued to train and race competitively in local MN circuits ranging from the mile to the marathon. He has also been coaching competitive high school runners in the Twin Cities since 2017. Spending the majority of the last six years of coaching at Edina High School prior to moving to his alma mater of Eagan High School this in 2023. He enjoys coaching high schoolers because it allows him to return to the sport that has given him so much. In addition, he hopes to inspire the younger generation of runners to become strong and confident in their daily lives.
